With a completely crowd-sourced budget of more than $105 million to date, Star Citizen is the biggest crowd-funded video game of all time, and is without question one of the most ambitious titles ever developed. A large-scale online space sim, Star Citizen features various "modules", including components comprised of space combat and first-person shooting. The game is focused heavily on its internal economy and the notion of citizenship, creating a complex, community-driven tapestry which could potentially make it one of the most immersive games ever made. That said, can it ever live up to the ridiculous hype surrounding it? Probably not, so best lower those expectations a little. It'll probably be great, but don't expect your life to change just by playing it.
