1. Once A Phone Is Wet There Is No Chance Of Fixing It
In my job, I've heard countless people surprised to find that liquid-damaged mobile phones can be repaired and restored. It's a great service that can be provided to modern day mobile phones because the internal parts for many phones can be purchased, and can therefore be replaced, fixing any problems. People often now are so used to old phones, which are impossible to get parts for, either because parts for phones were so expensive that conducting a repair that was cheaper than the handset was impossible, or they weren't sold at all.
Fact: While sometimes phones can be beyond repair, it is not impossible to fix liquid-damaged handsets. The stages of repair to a liquid damaged phone are to conduct a chemical clean on the handset, clearing out any liquid on the main board of the phone to stop corrosion, and then you need to inspect the different parts and flex cables of the phone, looking for breaks and corrosion on the parts. Once these are identified and replaced, the phone can be put back together and tested. While liquid damage is a 50/50 chance to get repaired, it can still be done and the reason it cannot be a guaranteed repair every time is because without first opening the handset up, there is no way to identify the extent of the internal corrosion that has occurred in the phone. Some other things to also consider is to not plug your phone in after it has gotten liquid, as this sends an electrical current through the phone while there is still water inside, potentially shorting the main board of the phone.
