Like many of Sony's mobile products, the Smartwatch 3 is brilliant in its simplicity, and criminally overlooked by the world at large. But with a price tag of around £130 and an array of features that much more expensive smartwatches are lacking, maybe it's time someone paid attention to Sony's stellar wearable. First, let's get it out of the way that the Smartwatch 3 isn't intended for fashionistas. Whether you go for the more casual and sporty rubber model or the smarter steel-bodied one, the design is functional rather than flashy. It has a sizeable 1.6-inch display with a 320 x 320 (283 ppi) resolution, which is excellent for a screen this size. Where the Smartwatch 3 shines is in its connectivity - with Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, and of course Bluetooth all being on board. It's a fantastic watch for runners thanks to the built-in GPS, and also because it's IP67-certified dustproof and waterproof. The powerful two-day battery on the Smartwatch 3 cements it as one of the best smartwatches you can get today when you take into account what you get for the price. If you can get past the dull exterior, you'll find a real gem of a smartwatch inside.
