5 Board Game Characters That Need Backstories
1. The Menu - Sushi Go! Party!
The artwork for Sushi Go! is simultaneously adorable and horrifying. While it's fun to see all the pieces of sushi have cute little faces, it's disturbing that they're all so happy and starry eyed, seemingly blissfully unaware of their impending fate. It could be argued that adding sweet little backstories to all of the sushi characters would be a great idea, but the character that needs fleshing out the most is The Menu.
On the surface, there's nothing too inspiring about a menu that would pique your interest to probe into it's character. But simply making this menu sentient has some scary implications. Sure, he's not going to be devoured himself, but on his flesh is tattooed a death sentence for each of his little sushi friends... And he knows that every time someone picks him up, he's complicit in ultimate murder of one of his buddies.
Move over Betrayal. That is true horror.
