As well as the amazing dining options, there are plenty of other things to enjoy at Aventura.

The pool area, although smaller than other Universal Orlando hotels, is clean and very pleasant to sit around. It reminded me of the chic pools you find in Spanish boutique hotels. There is also the Bar Sol pool bar with lots of yummy cocktails to drink while you relax in the sun. On an evening you can also chill out by the fire pit with one of the S'more Kits available to buy at the shop.

Speaking of shops, the Universal Store within Aventura is perfectly sized to pick up your favourite in-park merchandise. There was a good sized Harry Potter section and lots of Minions merchandise to lay your hands on. There is also a sundries section, perfect if you have forgot your toothpaste.

If you can't be without the gym whilst you are away, Aventura has a fitness centre overlooking the front of the hotel. For a hotel that has only 600 rooms, the gym is a good size and has all the equipment that you would need to fit in an impressive workout.

Staying onsite at Universal Orlando Resort means that you also get extra benefits such as early morning access to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You can also activate your room key to use as a charge card so you can pay for all your purchases to your room. This is ideal if you are travelling from the UK and have to pay a fee each time you use your card abroad, this way you pay one fee at checkout.
