5. Run A Marathon (Or Other Physically Challenging Event)
Running a marathon is one of the most physically challenging yet doable activities there is: 26.2m is a hell of a long way, but with the right training and attitude, you'll be able to finish it - and you can always walk part of the way. While it might be a killer on the legs, you'll be part of a huge event, have a great sense of accomplishment, get fit in the process, and may even be able to do your bit for charity.
If running's not solely your thing, or you want a little bit more pain to go with it, then you could always opt instead for one of the increasingly popular obstacle course events, such as Tough Mudder or Total Warrior.
