8 Dreadful Acts From US Presidents

3. Lyndon Johnson Won't Shut Up About Jumbo

It's pretty easy to say that LBJ has committed far more controversial acts in his time in office, his handling of Vietnam is of particular note when discussing terrible acts by presidents.

Lyndon Johnson, who became president under tragic conditions, was something of a rogue, regarded as brash and unapologetic, and nothing exemplifies his crudeness more than his regard to Jumbo.

Who is Jumbo? His penis. Lyndon Johnson named his reproductive organ Jumbo. This is the kind of mind we're dealing with here.

He was very particular on how Jumbo was to be treated and once demanded a White House shower be modified so that Jumbo could have its (his?) own personal source of running water. When told by staffers that this would be too costly and difficult, Johnson's retort was: 'If I can move 10,000 troops in a day you can certainly fix the bathroom any way I want it.'

He was reported to have 'released' Jumbo to the entire White House press pool in an attempt to justify American intervention in Vietnam. So either he was literally swinging his weight or Jumbo went on to explain the fine intricacies of foreign policy, history is silent on which.

It may not be dreadful act, whipping it out, but it is certainly a dick move.
