8 Embarrassing Mistakes You Won't Believe People On Dating Sites Make

4. Dreadful Choice Of Headlines

On most dating sites, you have the option to create your own headline in which to attract the attention of a potential match when they are browsing through the list of profiles. Bare in mind, this headline is the first thing you'll see when you're scrolling down through each person so it's pretty important to get right if you want to be viewed and subsequently messaged. So what do people put that is so bad? The desperate headlines are arguably the most cringe-worthy. Things such as 'Will I ever find a decent man?' are all too rife and it looks incredibly needy. I must stress how the headline really is the first thing that will draw you in before you see a thumbnail of the profile picture, and headlines such as the aforementioned will do nothing to reel a potential partner in. I've even seen 'So many freaks on this page lool!' which again does nothing to draw a person in to send a message to, and it does not refer to any of my online antics. However, I think the worst ones are the people who completely slate the gender in which they're supposedly attracted to. For example 'prove to me not all men are idiots' is a classic headline that will receive more negative attention than good - not that I'm bucking the trend. The biggest issue is that the people who are idiots or freaks on the site aren't always aware their behaviour is labelled as such, so they aren't likely to not message somebody just because the headline says so. Such headlines are counter-productive in regard to how much attention you'll get, and it makes the person whose profile it is visible on look even worse by having such a negative derogatory or desperate opening title which is supposed to attract people in.
