8 Innocent Things Made Horribly Filthy With Needless Censorship

7. Pokemon Theme

One of the most recognisable themes for 90s kids, and still going strong with the introduction of Pokemon X and Y, Pokemon always seemed to have a few underlying themes that needed investigation. Were Jesse and James a couple? Why was Brock always fixated with bikini models? And did Professor Oak have an ulterior motive for sending Ash away from his single mother? In this theme we see a terrible side of young Ash Ketchum, he wants to **** 'em all, not catch them as originally thought! For a ten year old with two adult friends, this seems a tad unhealthy. The song was Ash's battle cry, his manifesto and all he hoped to achieve. With this video and it's 44,000+ views, people of all ages can appreciate the song, but possibly not the new message. It certainly isn't Ash's fault, some of the characters in the show have became Geek icons, Misty, Nurse Joy and Jesse to name just a few. Having these as role models mean that even by the age of 10 he wants, to paraphrase him, '**** 'em all'. This theme has recently been re-used in the latest Anime of Pokemon, the X & Y series, looking at Ash's adventures in the Kalos region. Jason Paige recorded the original song, and has updated it by bringing it bang up to date for their audience which is now 16 years older.
