8 Robots That Will Put You Out Of A Job
3. Robonauts

So, even the most exciting job in the world isn't safe from the encroaching robot dawn.
We've been sending probes and rovers out into the solar system for years now, but aspiring astronauts have always managed to dream safe in the knowledge that there are certain things you need a human for. Aboard the ISS, there are astronauts from all over the world, performing experiments with their dexterous human hands.
However, NASA, in partnership with General Motors are developing the Robonaut 2 - and astronaut android with five-fingered hands and an array of sensors that allow it to carry out tasks aboard the ISS previously reserved for humans.
NASA hope that it will be able to accompany astronauts out on spacewalks and carry out repair work on the station - with the added bonus that it doesn't require food, water or oxygen to survive in the vacuum of space.
