9 Science Facts To Make Your Day
4. Dogs Tilt Their Heads To See You Better

The darling little head-tilt that many dogs will deploy just as you're telling them off is enough to melt anyone's heart, but do they do it just to be cute?
Whilst many dogs have probably learnt that if they tilt their heads during a lecture, you're more likely to stop mid-opus and give them belly rubs, there are some who think there's a much more practical reason: They're looking around their nose at you.
Put you fist in front of your nose and you'll see that it blocks a lot of your view of another person's face. There are those who suggest that dogs, with their surprisingly sophisticated capacity for empathy, are looking around their noses to better judge your mood and feelings. It just also happens to be totally adorable.
