5. Cats Have A Favourite Type Of Music

Cats are generally pretty chill about most things, but in a wonderful demonstration of just-because-we-can science, researchers have devised a type of music, specifically designed to be enjoyed by cats.

The music contains sounds that imitate the sound of purring - which cats find naturally calming - and birdsong - which piques their interest. The researchers found that the kitties displayed "expressions of approval" such as purring and rubbing the speakers what the cat music was playing, compared to a nice bit of Bach.

It is unsure which is the most heartwarming bit of this story - the fact that cats can enjoy their own music, or that someone saw fit to create it in the first place.
