Apple Launch 'New iPad'

Tim Cook and company took to the stage at the Yerba Buena Center for Arts in San Francisco, California to introduce the world to the third generation iPad.

Thank goodness, the rumor mills have been shutdown. Apple have unveiled the new iPad (they never gave the name) and launched an official website for the much anticipated product HERE. Tim Cook and company took to the stage at the Yerba Buena Center for Arts in San Francisco, California to introduce the world to the third generation iPad. Here's what was aid: It has a retina display, which means 2047 x 1536 pixels, 264 pixels per inch. It comes with a dual-core processor, same as iPad 2. More important is the new A5X processor, quad-core graphics processor to power all of the high definition content and the retina screen. The front facing camera is a Facetime camera. This usually means higher resolution than what is in the iPad 2, but they did not specify. The rear-facing camera was upgraded to a 5 megapixel camera (it's iPhone 4 camera with the optics from the iPhone 4s). The camera will record 1080p HD video. Worried about battery life with all this high resolution? No worries. The battery life is 10 hours, which explains why it is slightly thicker and heavier than iPad 2. The carrier connection is 4G LTE and will allow personal hotspot (if carrier supports it). The prices are the same as the iPad 2: $499, $599 and $699 for 16, 32 and 64GB. $629, $729 and $829 16, 32 and 64 GB with 4G. If this has enticed you, pre-order today. It will be available March 16th.
