Skull Island: Reign Of Kong Review - 7 Ways It’s Awesome
4. It's Not A Carbon Copy Of King Kong 360 3-D
One of our biggest concerns going into the experience was that Skull Island: Reign of Kong would simply be lifted and shifted from Hollywood, but it hasn't, well not completely.
Part of the ride does have almost the exact same movie and it is a shame that a brand new one wasn't created for Orlando. It would have been nice for Hollywood to have its own version rather than what now appears to be a lesser version of the same movie.
However, Skull Island: Reign of Kong is really the whole package. We've already talked about how great the queue area is but the impressive technology such as the trucks and the animatronics are a Kong-sized wonder in itself.
Mike West and his team have created a version of King Kong 360 that those behind the Hollywood version could have only dreamed of. It is a well rounded unique attraction, not a small one built into another like on the west coast.
If you can, try and ride the Hollywood version first because if you ride the other way around you might be disappointed. At Hollywood, all you are getting is the movie whilst in Orlando it is a full attraction.
