A Song Of Ice And Fire: 9 Essential Questions For The Winds Of Winter

6. Will Arya Assassinate A Major Character?

Untitled At the end of Dance, Arya Stark, oops I meant Cat of the Canals, has received her vision back and succeeded in her first assassination. The first level of her training has been completed, and she must now continue her Faceless Man education as she takes the next step. The Faceless Men, as we know, are a group of hired assassins from the city of Braavos, where the most powerful bank resides, which is feared due to their serious attitude towards loan repayment. Everyone from Robert Baratheon to Jon Snow have borrowed sizable loans in order to pay for their surroundings; Cersei Lannister and her council deferred their repayments in Feast. In response, the Iron Bank refused new loan requests triggering economic chaos in the Seven Kingdoms. Maybe this is where Arya steps in. The Iron Bank will take any measures to ensure their money is repaid - if not, then maybe they will accept other forms of repayment. It has been implied they hired faceless assassins to kill clients who never pay. Arya could finally seek revenge on Cersei if she is given a contract to kill her. Petyr Baelish is another candidate as he has borrowed large sums of money to cover King Robert's lavish spending. Currently he is sitting safely in the Vale patiently planning his next move in the game. He would never expect an assassin coming to collect his debt in blood. And he would never expect Arya.
