6. Peter And Chris Withe
PA/PA Archive/Press Association ImagesPeter Withe (above) is another former Newcastle player to have scored a European Cup final winning goal, notching the decisive goal in Aston Villa's 1982 victory over Bayern Munich. This came after a spell at St. James Park, who had become the much-travelled forward's 9th club in just 8 years, signing for £200,000 from Nottingham Forest where we won the First Division, despite the Magpies being in the second division at the time. After scoring 25 times for Newcastle over 78 league performances, Withe became Aston Villa's record signing at the time at £500,000, netting the Magpies a massive £300,000 profit. As with the Kennedys, his brother Chris was less impactful at Newcastle, where he started his career as an apprentice in 1980, and stayed for three years, making just two appearances for the club before moving on to Bradford City.
