Movember: 12 Greatest Moustaches In Newcastle United History

2. Mick Quinn

Look at that face. Terrifying. Mick Quinn never really looked like a footballer, and by all means he was unexpectedly brilliant partly because of that. Nobody thought he'd be the prowler he was, or that he'd be able to turn his pace on so quickly over four or five yards to score. And there's something about his rugged, unkempt style - scoring off his backside and genitals and any means possible - that suits the mentality of the moustache wearer. It's supposed to be dirty and uncouth, but in the end the results are always spectacular.

1. Brian Kilcline

A formidable character on the pitch, Brian Kilcline - the man Kevin Keegan said was his greatest ever signing no less - had a fearsome image that owed in great part to his majestic mane of hair and a facial hair arrangement that dared anyone to doubt his fierceness. He was a machine for Newcastle, and you can barely conceive of the fear that must have gone through opposition players' minds as they saw his imposing frame galloping towards them, moustache glistening with sweat. If only we could see those days again. Which of these is your favourite moustachioed Newcastle man? Think you've found better? Share your picks below in the comments thread.
