Newcastle Transfers: 5 Reasons Pardew MUST Get Rid Of Papiss Cisse

2. For The Sake Of Riviere, Perez And Ferreyra

Though his composure left a lot to be desired against Man City, Emmanuel Riviere looks a very good prospect. He was strong, out-muscling even Vincent Kompany at one point, and his holding up of the ball is something Newcastle fans haven't seen enough since the departure of Alan Shearer, and if he can hone his shooting skills a little, he could well score as many as Loic Remy did last season. And then there's Ayoze Perez, the Spanish bottle-rocket who came on fearlessly for the last ten minutes, skipped around two players and had a shot narrowly deflected wide at 0-1. He is highly-rated but a little untested, but from what has been seen of him so far, he looks more than capable of punishing teams in the last 20 minutes of games as their legs tire. And of course, Newcastle also have Facundo Ferreyra, who didn't make the bench against Man City, but who will definitely be good back-up until he can break his way into the first-team. Even allowing for the introduction of another striker (if it is to happen before September), Papiss Cisse will likely leap-frog at least two of those players, because Alan Pardew seems to favour him despite his lack of form. And that is not conducive to their development as Newcastle players at all. If they were over-looked for a better striker who will score goals, like Remy, that would be fine, but Cisse has outlived his value, and pushing him in at the top of the pecking order would be wrong.
