3. Nicolas Anelka
Nicolas Anelka's move to the Chinese Super League hasn't quite panned out the way he hoped it would. He was named player-manager after the dismissal of Jean Tiagna following a player revolt and the sacking of his entire backroom staff. Further unrest then surfaced with reports of unpaid wages and threats for further strikes. Now Anelka wants to terminate his contract with Shanghai, along with fellow former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba, which has created rumours that one or perhaps both could make a return to the Premier League. Both would be ideal replacements for Demba Ba at Newcastle, particularly Drogba, as he is of similar stature and is a real powerhouse, but he perhaps has too much loyalty with Chelsea to play for a domestic rival. Anelka is probably a more realistic shout given he has played for a string of Premier League teams, and was also linked with a move to the club during his days at Fenerbahçe in 2006. Source(s):
