Newcastle Transfers: 7 Players Who Definitely Need To Leave This Summer

5. Steven Taylor

One of the most passionate players Newcastle has ever had in the Premier League era, Taylor's constant injuries are affecting any sort of consistency and chemistry the Newcastle defence can create. And in a squad that is kept to a long maximum level, it's hard to justify him taking up a spot for much longer.

Having only managed seven games this season, Taylor needs to be part of the NUFC summer exodus. Although he is a veteran, rising through the youth ranks at the start of a 20 year career with Newcastle, his form fluctuates wildly. His tackling is one of his weakest attributes, and you wouldn't pick a defender who commits the same amount of fouls as the tackles he makes, would you?

As a basic foundation for success, you need quality players who'll be consistent week in, week out, and the adopted Geordie is just not cutting it.
