The Dutchman arrived in Newcastle from Ajax in the summer of 2012, costing £6.7million, with endorsements ringing in his ears that he could be the next Clarence Seedorf. As he came from Ajax, who have a great reputation for nurturing some of the best young talents in the world, expectations were pretty high.

Sadly, Anita hasn't come close to said expectations.

A diabolical performance against Arsenal in March sums up his Premier League struggles. Despite being a defensive midfielder, he always looks vulnerable, and he played Colback into trouble on more than one occasion. And his slight stature means he will always be accused of not being up to the physical pressures of the league.

At another club in another league that plays to his style, he could well be good, but it doesn't look like that club will be Newcastle.
