Newcastle United's Greatest Foreign XI

4. Midfield: Yohan Cabaye (France)

Another one that still hurts, and another player that, if fans are totally honest with themselves, always looked far too good to be playing for Newcastle. Unfortunately, Cabaye pretty much felt exactly the same way. The only solace is that he moved back to France and not to someone like Chelsea or Arsenal, where teary-eyed Toon fans would have had to see him on Match of the Day every week, rubbing their noses in it. That he can€™t seem to get much of a look in at PSG dangles the faint hope that he might return. Though it's probably more likely he'll turn up at Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers will be once more hailed as a genius unearther of gems, entirely unjustly. But remember Cabaye€™s time on the Toon: incisive, defence-splitting passes, little moments of magic on the ball, a real vicious streak that referees seemed to miss, but which opposition player€™s shins knew all too well. A perfect all-round midfielder.
