Newcastle United's Greatest Foreign XI

7. Right Back: Mathieu Debuchy (France)

A defender who left long before his time; this one still hurts, actually. Newcastle fans didn€™t really get to see enough of Debuchy in a black and white shirt, but from the off, he always looked like he was too good to be playing for the Toon, to be brutally honest. Composure, pace, comfortable with both feet, an ability to whip a cross in, an arm so tattooed it looks like a block of Stilton and a dodgy haircut: Debuchy had everything the modern footballer needs. If he could keep himself fit, he€™d be a shoo-in for this team, even if his temperament would pretty much guarantee 3 or 4 red cards a season.
