Premier League: 10 Biggest Transfer Window Mistakes

8. No Move For McCormack

Arguably the biggest story of deadline day involved Leeds United and Ross McCormack, which went something like this: Leeds turn down Cardiff bid, manager Brian McDermott is sacked, McCormack is devastated, McCormack issues come and get me plea live on SSN, six clubs enquire, nothing materialises, McCormack pledges his allegiance to the club again via Twitter. That entire shambles was just one day at Leeds United, and things haven't got any less ridiculous since then. It emerged that the lawyer that sacked McDermott didn't even have the authority to do it and he's now back in charge at the club, and there's also a potential court date in March. The situation is a mess, the club is in turmoil and in the middle of it lies captain Ross McCormack, who now faces a challenging few months at Elland Road when he could've been experiencing Premier League football. He really should have forced through a move. Get your agent on the phone, hand in a transfer request, get out as soon as possible - the situation at Leeds is not a healthy one, and you could hardly blame him if he did.
