John Copage was an actor whose Star Trek career spanned decades, though to be fair, one may not remember him straight away. His first appearance was as Elliott, a featured member of the away team that investigates the USS Constellation in The Doomsday Machine. This came about thanks to his friendship with producer Gene Coon.

Copage would return to Star Trek just over twenty years later, appearing frequently as a background actor in The Next Generation. He would also go on to appear in Voyager, along with a dashing appearance in the holodeck in Star Trek: First Contact.

He had a long career in Hollywood, with dozens of most memorable show names as part of his reel. Bewitched, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Mission: Impossible, and Dynasty were just some examples from his vast CV. He kept a blog, wherein he detailed how he originally got the role of Elliott as well.

He also managed to keep a day job as a real estate broker. Copage died in June 2023, at 98 years old.
