6. Companions & Bond Girls
It's well known that James Bond is a notorious ladies' man. It's also universally accepted that the Doctor will likely have a pretty companion joining him on his travels. While both seek different qualities in their female companions, it's easy to compare their predilections for attractive women both in canon and in the real world. In terms of media interest, when a new companion or Bond girl is announced, both tend to attract equal attention. Websites, magazines, newspapers and fans alike love to discuss, speculate and theorise on just who may join the cast of the franchises in these traditional and often coveted roles. While Bond is notorious for having more than one lady friend per film, the Doctor tends to hold onto his companions for longer than a whole series, thus confirming that the Doctor is definitely less of a lothario than the ever suave 007. That said, not all companions are female, and Bond doesn't only fraternise with women. Both characters have male friends who prove invaluable in the long run. Bond has Felix Leiter, René Mathis and several others, while the Doctor has had several chaps in his stable of companions including Rory Williams, Harry Sullivan and Jamie McCrimmon (to name but a few!)
