10 Actors Who Shockingly Quit TV Shows After The First Season

2. Farrah Fawcett - Charlie’s Angels

Farrah Fawcett started making her name known in the big leagues in 1976, when the first season of Charlie’s Angels hit screens. Playing an ex-police officer turned private detective, Jill Munroe, Fawcett managed to garner more fame than her two fellow angels. This, however, wasn’t enough to keep her on board.

There were a number of factors that allegedly played into Fawcett’s departure, the first of which being cash. She was in a way being rinsed for all she was worth in that first season: she was paid only half of what her co-star Kate Jackson was paid per episode, only received a measly two percent in merchandising profits and, despite how little they were paying her, the network was making huge bucks off of her likeness.

Aside from this she had ambitions to appear in movies and grow as an actress, things she just couldn’t do by staying with Charlie’s Angels. She wanted to bring ‘real women’s emotions’ to the big screen and develop herself and her abilities, saying that when being confined to the series she felt ‘creatively stifled’.

Still a recognisable name today, Farrah Fawcett certainly managed to build herself a legacy both in and out of Charlie’s Angels.
