Just like Thomas Jane, Disney star Ashely Tisdale is sat in the exclusive group of actors who somehow managed to turn down two iconic TV roles.

Coming off the success of The Suite Life of Zack of Cody and the High School Musical film series, Tisdale was approached for the role of Hanna Marin in the drama Pretty Little Liars and then Elena Gilbert in supernatural drama The Vampire Diaries, but turned them both down to focus on her work in the show Hellcats.

Hellcats ran for one dismal and critically panned season before being cancelled, whilst both Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries went on for seven and eight seasons respectively and acquired massive followings in the process.

Ashley Benson took the role of Hanna and Nina Dobrev took the lead in The Vampire Diaries, whilst Tisdale has released very little since the mid-2000s and slipped somewhat in obscurity despite her strong career beginnings.
