One of the contenders for the role as Pam Beesly was Kathryn Hahn, which is an odd one considering her usual repertoire. She tends to play much feistier and cruder characters than that of sweet, quiet Pam, so it would have been an interesting choice.
Hahn has had a busy career even without the Office, she played high-strung Jennifer Barkley on Parks and Recreation and appeared in Girls.
Movie-wise, she has had roles in Step Brothers, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and We're the Millers, just to name a few.
