7. Paid Programming: Icelandic Ultra Blue
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q5-1XQzNfg This is how it all started. Icelandic Ultra Blue is the first infomercial that Williams Street produced back in 2009. The short was intended as a TV pilot and even though it wasn't picked up, Adult Swim continued to air it anyway. We still got all these awesome infomercials a few years later, but one can't really tell if they were supposed to be part of the same Paid Programming series. This one isn't even on their official YouTube channel yet, so here's hoping they complete their collection. The sketch itself is everything you'd hope to get from contemporary absurd comedy, using a stream of consciousness narrative to jump from an Icelandic wonder cream (created by a Norwegian doctor who speaks perfect American English), to a song contest, an animated short about particles and a splinter removal clinic among others. References to the Holocaust and necrophilia make this a proper Adult Swim piece. Feeling your dark side take over yet?
