Critics have long derided South Park for its crude low brow humor and offensive nature and for the most part they are correct. However, the fact of the matter is, there are few other show on television that takes on current events and controversial subjects with the same fearlessness as Trey Parker and Matt Stone. And there is no one who can make audiences laugh so much at the same time.
Since 1997 Kyle, Kenny, Cartman and Stan have taken on Osama Bin Laden, Scientology, The Prophet Muhammad, and more fun subjects like popular music and World of Warcraft. And throughout, South Park has managed to please audiences despite the fact that they don't care if they please anyone.
It manages to be the most anarchic no-holds-barred show on television without alienating it's viewers or getting kicked off the air, a rare feat in this day and age. And even though it's on its 19th season, South Park shows no signs of slowing down.
