10 Best Christmassy Doctor Who Villains

4. Kazran Sardick

Doctor Who The Snowmen
BBC

The villain of 2011's A Christmas Carol, Kazran Sardick was the miserly, despotic ruler of Sardicktown and the only person able to control the cloud belt around the planet's skies.

This outer-space Scrooge, in his hatred of both people and Christmas, chose to allow a starliner trapped in the cloud belt to crash. In doing so, the four-thousand people on board, including Amy and Rory Pond, would be fated to die.

In order to convince Sardick to come to reason and show some compassion, the Eleventh Doctor travelled back into the businessman's timeline where he pretended to be 'The Ghost of Christmas Past'.

He took the young Kazran on adventures, inspired him, and slowly planted the seeds in his mind to convince him to change the future.

Unfortunately, in the process, Kazran fell in love with a cryogenically frozen songstress, Abigail, who was destined to die from her illness. Releasing her from her cryosleep every Christmas, she accompanied the Doctor and Kazran on adventures until the boy realised she was about to die.

Forced to freeze her again, Sardick's heart grew colder and only the Doctor's intervention managed to change his mind. Looking back at the new life he had led with the Doctor, Sardick assisted him in saving the starliner.

Allowed to live out his final Christmas Day with Abigail, Sardick soon came to love Christmas and realise its true meaning.
