10 Best Final Seasons In TV History

8. Lost (Season 6)

Lost Final Season
ABC

Despite a number of Lost fans claiming there were unanswered questions following the much-awaited final season, it's actually amazing how tightly it does wrap up.

Quite possibly the most popular show on TV at its time of airing, the finale was never going to please everyone, but it made a pretty good go, and comes off as one of the most epic seasons of all time.

Following on from the time travelling antics of the previous season, Lost delved into the wider mythology of the island for its swan-song, and we got answers to some of the biggest mysteries since the show began. We were introduced to more members of The Others, we got the origins of Jacob and The Man In Black, we learned more about Richard Alpert, and we even got an answer (if only referenced briefly) to the mysterious numbers and how they linked to our main characters.

The stakes were higher than ever and in the main timeline some of our favourite islanders met tragic ends. It was also a clever concept to introduce the alternate timeline - which transpired to be an afterlife of sorts for the main group to reunite at the end. It allowed for some great character returns and some highly emotional reunions.
