10 Best Horror TV Shows Of 2020
1. The Haunting Of Bly Manor
2018's The Haunting of Hill House was one of the best horror shows ever released on Netflix when it dropped, and its success went a huge way in hyping up its sequel, The Haunting of Bly Manor prior to its release in October 2020.
The show borrows a lot of inspiration from the 1898 novella by Henry James named The Turn of the Screw, and is the second main instalment in Mike Flanagan's 'The Haunting' series. Flanagan's influence has become instantly recognisable in the world of horror in recent times, and The Haunting of Bly Manor saw names such as Henry Thomas, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, Carla Gugino, Catherine Parker and Victoria Pedretti all returned from Hill House to portray different characters in the show.
The Haunting of Bly Manor is set on the grounds of a stately home in the Essex countryside, and revolves around a young American au pair named Dani Clayton who is tasked with looking after two rather peculiar children.
Whilst it's up for debate as to whether Bly Manor managed to hit the heights achieved by Hill House, the brilliance in all of the characters' deliveries and Flanagan's touch has made the show one of the best of the year and shown that 'The Haunting' series certainly has legs for the future going forward.
