In the third season finale, 'The Last Day', the mechanoid Kryten learns that he is to be replaced by a newer model in just twenty-four hours. Unable to prevent his fate, the rest of the crew hold a boozy send-off party for him in the officers' club on the ship.
Hungover from special android brew, Kryten wakes up to a video showcasing his replacement model, the Hudzen-10. It is shown to be smarter (writing a long equation on a blackboard), faster (cooking a chicken instantly with his eye beam) and stronger (snapping a brick in half with his groin).
When he finally arrives on Red Dwarf, the crew discover that his sanity chip has worn out from three-million years of pursuing them, and he is indiscriminate in his mission to wipe them out. Kryten is able to shut him down by lying to him that the android heaven, Silicon Heaven, doesn't exist, causing a total meltdown of his circuitry.
To see another android other than Kryten display such emotion is quite refreshing, and with insanely gruff eerie singing, all of his scenes are a pleasure to watch. His disbelief when asking, "Where do all the calculators go?", is strangely heartbreaking.
