10 Best Performances In Breaking Bad

5. Bob Odenkirk - Saul Goodman

Breaking Bad Saul Goodman Bob Odenkirk

While Bob Odenkirk's truly great work started in Better Call Saul (because we were invited to invest in the character and to see what led him to where he is in Breaking Bad), his turn as the lawyer/fixer in Breaking Bad itself is still really, really great.

Overlooked for even a single nomination, the issue with Saul is that he's too convincing a character for the performance to be truly cherished. He's utterly convincing in his role, but when you look at how despicable Saul COULD be in someone else's hands and how effortlessly charming and likeable he is thanks to Odenkirk it all becomes clear.

He's hilarious, vulnerable when he needs to be and he has an unrivalled way of expressing the real pressure of a situation that makes him seem born to play Goodman. Which makes it even more unfair that he was underrated in the role (at least with critics).
