10 Best Sketch Comedy Series Of All Time

8. Mr. Show With Bob And David

If the only shows you know Bob Odenkirk from are Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, then you might be a little shocked to know he starred in one of the funniest sketch comedy series ever. You would be less shocked to find out David Cross was in that series with him, particularly if you know him best from Arrested Development.

Mr. Show with Bob and David aired on HBO over four seasons starting in 1995. It was a subtle staple of comedy from the late 1990s. It was a mix of live audience and pre-taped segments that were pieced together on strange narrative through each episode. Strange is the operative word here as the show got weird a lot of the time. In a good way, of course.

It featured several alternative comics of the era, giving them some of their biggest shots to date. Sarah Silverman, Paul F. Tompkins, Brian Posehn, Scott Aukerman and Mary Lynn Rajskub were all part of the series. Tom Kenny, the voice of Spongebob Squarepants, was a cast member as well as Jack Black.

Mr. Show is one of those series that you can go back to over and over again as it rarely dates itself with its comedy or subject matter. It's just funny.
