10 Best Sketch Comedy Series Of All Time

7. Key & Peele

Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele had both been around for a while, appearing in movies and TV series for quite some time. Both men previously worked on Mad TV, a sketch comedy series based on the parody filled magazine. But when they decided to do their own show which fit their comedic sensibilities, the two men set the world on fire.

Key & Peele debuted on Comedy Central in 2012 and produced 53 episodes over five seasons. The series featured classic pop culture sketches but delved deeper into race relations and ethnic stereotypes than most other shows ever do. That's why it won so many awards and became the cultural juggernaut it was.

In particular, they captured an era in politics with their take on Barack Obama's eight year term as the President of the United States, who was often played by Peele. One recurring sketch featured Key playing Luther, President Obama's anger translator who said the things Obama wanted to say. Key actually appeared at the Annual White House Correspondents Dinner as Luther alongside the real President Obama.
