10 Best South Park Celebrity Cameos
8. Malcolm McDowell
This placement of this entry isn't based on the strength of the episode in question. Truthfully, McDowell's presence is the only genuine redeeming factor in what is otherwise universally considered to be one of the series's worst episodes (centered around one of the show's most disliked characters).
In the season 4 episode, "Pip", the iconic McDowell appears as the narrator of a Great Expectations-esque story (presented in the style of Masterpiece Theatre), starring the show's most forgettable character: Philip "Pip" Pirrup. Credited as "a British Person" (because Charles Dickens and Great Expectations), McDowell's esteem and class stand in stark contrast to the show's trademark crudeness and vulgarity, which is exactly why it's hilarious.
The following is real dialogue from the episode:
McDowell: "That night, Pip spent all his sleeping hours unable to get Estella's beautiful face out of his mind."
Estella: "Stop dreaming about me, you slow-witted rectal belch!"
Prestigious.
One of McDowell's closing lines in the episode is, "And they lived happily ever after. Except for Pocket, who died of hepatitis B." No matter how piss-poor the episode was, you have to appreciate McDowell's commitment to the absurdity of it. The man deserves a statue.
