While the Doctor's TARDIS is barred from appearing on our list due to the fact that it would easily claim the number one spot and make this whole thing frustratingly predictable, we have to give a shoutout to its more violent cousin: the Battle TARDIS.

As the name implies, these awesome machines are not too dissimilar to the Doctor's own - but the one major difference is that they're equipped with an arsenal of powerful weapons.

The ship's outer shell can actually morph into a shield, a gun, or any other useful bit of kit you can think of, but the main bit of firepower that Battle TARDISes use are time torpedoes. Time torpedoes essentially freeze their targets in place, leaving them unable to retaliate - so you can imagine how useful this would be when squaring off against a Dalek fleet, as happened many times during the Time War.

While we've never seen a Battle TARDIS in action onscreen, a few years ago, we did come close: during the Peter Capaldi era, one of these ships was going to be used as the foundation of an episode, but unfortunately, that idea didn't get very far.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
