10 Best Standalone Seinfeld Episodes

4. The Marine Biologist

Seinfeld The Limo
NBC

After running into the former "it" girl at an ATM, Jerry incidentally exposes some not so truthful facts about George to her. Delighted that a popular girl who is now a grown woman - and therefore likely less fussed about acceptance - has shown interest in him, George feels like the king of the world.

Kramer's B-plot is beyond supporting, as not only does it link with the former, it stands on its own two feet, before teeing up one of the most excellent endings in the shows run.

In typical Seinfeld fashion, the customary luxury of characters learning something after the episode culminates is totally absent. Or that's how it seems at first glance. Well, until George relays his legendary monologue - one reminiscent of the memorable "war story" exchange scene in Jaws - as he embellishes his own confrontation with a deep sea dweller.

Not only is the story just as entertaining as the episode but the capping "and she told me to go to hell", paired with the revelation of Kramer causing the issue, ensure that this is one episode you will view on repeat.
