3. The Phantom Apprentice
As good as it is, The Lawless isn't even the best Maul episode in Clone Wars.
The Phantom Apprentice ties up the loose ends of The Lawless, as Ahsoka heads to Mandalore to battle Maul once and for all. There, Maul reveals that he not only wants to lure Obi-Wan to Mandalore, but also Anakin, who he has sensed will become Vader.
The episode ends with the single most epic lightsaber duel in all of Clone Wars. Ahsoka and Maul's sabers clash to a swelling score and stunning cinematography. Ray Park, the original Darth Maul actor from Phantom Menace, came in to choreograph the fight in real life, leading to crisper animated movements than ever before.
Despite being an episode of Clone Wars, The Phantom Apprentice deserves to be seen on a big screen like the live action films. The most cinematic episode of the entire series, just watching it on a computer or television doesn't do it justice.
