Before Charlie Brooker's genius show was sold to Netflix, Black Mirror released a Christmas special in 2014 titled White Christmas. The episode featured wonderful performances from Jon Hamm, Rafe Spall and Oona Chaplin (yes THAT Chaplin). As light-hearted as Christmas specials tend to be, in typical Black Mirror fashion, this took the premise of a happy Christmas story and completely turned it on its head, leaving the audience lost for words and hating Wizzard.

The plot: Hamm and Spall are colleagues working in a remote shack in an undisclosed location. Despite working together for five years, the two have barely spoken but break their silence on Christmas Day. As the wine flows, the two begin to reveal the awful tragedies of their past and the reasons behind their desire to work in a remote, desolate location.

Why it's awesome: Hamm and Spall work amazingly together. Hamm's story about how he used to run a pick-up artist service has a wonderfully twisted ending. Then there's the "cookie" technology that allows you to have a mini clone of yourself work around the clock to keep your house's appliances in working order. Also, Spall's story is heartbreaking, putting a dampner on anyone's Christmas spirit.
