Marvel is still finding its feet in the world of TV, experimenting to see what does and doesn't work when it comes to heroes on the small screen. This has resulted in a few inevitable misfires, such as Iron Fist and Inhumans, but also hits like Jessica Jones.
Krysten Ritter's hard-drinking, hard-hitting private eye will return for another solo adventure when Jessica Jones Season 2 comes to Netflix on 8 March.
The first series ended with Jessica having killed her tormentor Kilgrave (played by David Tennant) and broken his hold over her, leaving her to press ahead with a new case in the upcoming episodes, but moving on is unlikely to be so simple.
Teaser images appear to confirm Kilgrave will be back to haunt the protagonist, although it's unclear whether that means he returns from the dead or merely features in visions, since Marvel is keeping schtum over the extent of Tennant's involvement.
Marvel's TV universe has expanded since Jessica Jones launched two years ago, with the release of shows like The Defenders and The Punisher, so it will be interesting to see how JJ builds on that when she flies solo once again.
