When it comes to big budget Hollywood action films, there will always be one role that is guaranteed to be played by a British actor, that of the bad guy. Every villain from Loki to Darth Maul has been played by someone from this side of the Atlantic, and Mission Impossible II was no exception, with the casting of Dougray Scott as antagonist Sean Ambrose. Although he didn't achieve another role in a film as big as a Tom Cruise action blockbuster, it wasn't long before his next big films, Enigma with Kate Winslet, and Ripley's Game, opposite John Malkovich. He also starred in the highly successful American drama series Desperate Housewives, appearing in 18 episodes as Ian Hainsworth. Despite not having the biggest film career of all the actors listed here, Scott did receive several highly positive reviews praising his performance of Alec Palmer in Doctor Who's Hide, which was also regarded as one of season 7's best episodes.
