10 Biggest TV Disappointments Of 2016
1. The Delay Of Twin Peaks
The fact there’s new Twin Peaks at all is something of a minor miracle; David Lynch sort of retired after Inland Empire, and always stated he’d never, ever return to Twin Peaks. God was merciful, however, and it was announced in 2014 a new limited series would air in 2016, which would also mark the 25th anniversary of the show going off the air.
There have been scares along the way since then; Lynch announced he was stepping away from the project after budget disputes, but thankfully he came back, and the number of planned episodes doubled to 18. The real heartbreak was learning at the start of 2016 the show wouldn’t air until at least 2017 since Showtime were giving Lynch all the time he needed.
Fans the world over let out a collective sigh of disappointment, especially after a casting announcement revealed most of the old cast were returning, in addition to newcomers like Tim Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Naomi Watts. Still, at least we'll have something to look forward to next year.
