10 Biggest TV Disappointments Of 2016

4. The Buddy Cop Flop That Is Lethal Weapon

Negan The Walking Dead
Fox

It feels like TV show remakes of classic movies are the new thing, but where Hannibal or Westworld took the initial premise and spun them off in exciting new directions, the TV version of Lethal Weapon is content to be bland as possible.

It’s clear the network sank a lot of money into it, but the glossy look can't hide the lack of decent gags. McG – the McGenius behind Terminator Salvation and This Means War – directed the pilot, showing off his typical flair for making something look slick but utterly devoid of soul. The two lead actors are fine and have decent chemistry, but Mel Gibson or Danny Glover they most certainly are not.

The show is doing alright in the ratings, but this modest level of success means it will probably run for a couple of seasons before being canned without fanfare.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
