10 Brand New TV Shows Coming To Netflix In 2022
4. Clark
Swedish cinema and television are a treasure trove of great crime stories, and it looks like they're about to produce yet another gem with the story of Clark Olofsson, the country's most notorious gangster, whose crimes gave rise to the term "Stockholm syndrome".
The six-episode limited series will be directed by Jonas Åkerlund, who is probably more famous for directing music videos (he's won three Grammys and a record five MTV Video Music Awards), and who also has six feature films to his name, including 2018's Lords of Chaos.
Åkerlund will also be writing the scripts, along with Fredrik Agetoft and Peter Arrhenius, two household names when it comes to screenwriting in Sweden.
The show will take a more comedic approach, hoping to play on the quirky, offbeat personalities of its characters set against an exciting crime story, in order to deliver an entertaining and action-packed experience. The role of Olofsson will be played by Bill Skarsgård who has plenty of experience in both action and comedy, so he should be more than capable of bringing the character to life. Judging by the first trailers, he looks to be thoroughly enjoying himself.
The six episodes will be released all at once for every Netflix regional market on 5 May.
