3. Barry Humphries (Dame Edna Everage)

Barry Humphries is, undoubtedly, a huge star in his own right. A famous and very successful Australian comedian, satirist, artist, and author, Humphries has done stand-up comedy, acted in both television and film, presented on television and written numerous books, amongst various other ventures. His most famous role, however, is that of his cross-dressing role as the extravagant Dame Edna Everage, who has outgrown him and become more well known than the man himself. Instantly recognisable due to her famous lilac-coloured (or 'wisteria hue') hair and cat eye glasses (or 'face furniture'), Dame Edna's boisterous greeting of "Hello, Possums!" has resonated throughout the world since the late 1950's. Dame Edna even has a street named after her in her native Australia, which is more than even Humphries himself can say!
