10 Chilling TV Title Sequences That Will Keep You Up At Night

5. The Walking Dead (2010 - Present)

A TV title sequence that perfectly encaptures the death and decay of the world its characters live in. It changes year to year but carries the same message; the world we know has been abandoned to the zombie apocalypse. Insects run rampant over furniture. Cars lie abandoned. Houses lie derelict. The most we see of the zombie threat are hands clawing around a chained door or a close up of a monstrous eye. It is enough to send chills down your spine without giving away too much. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYveggi9zxI&src_vid=O8W9qr7DB-o&feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_651539 The frenzied strings on the music score set the audience on edge too. The sense of danger and dread is apparent throughout; it conjures up the image of people on the run, trying to find sanctuary, a theme that is constantly apparent in the show. With the imagery revealing everything dead and decaying, swathed in sepia tones, the world truly looks like a post-apocalyptic wasteland and it is not comfortable to watch. Without realising it, the title sequence has you tense by the time it ends. The chances are that feeling isn't going to go away as the episode progresses.
